You’ll enjoy direct access to Trans-Canada Highway 401, CN Railway’s mainline (double-track), and our regional airport, with nearby ports located in Johnstown, Ontario, Ogdensburg, New York, and Montreal, Quebec.


South Glengarry has an engaged, experienced, and efficient Planning, Economic Development, and Building team who champions new business and development projects. The Township of South Glengarry does not charge development fees, and you’ll find our planning application and permit costs some of the lowest in Ontario. To better serve customers, we have a Land Use Planner, an Economic Development Officer, a Chief Building Official, and Building Officials on staff. We also offer local and regional financial incentives to businesses to encourage growth and prosperity in our Township, in addition to Provincial and Federal programs.

South Glengarry’s workforce is well-educated, and skilled, and offers a pool of bilingual employees within the Township and from across the border in Quebec. According to the 2021 Census Profile, 89.8% of South Glengarry residents hold a certificate or higher qualification. You’ll enjoy excellent access to recent graduates from St. Lawrence College next door in Cornwall, or from several colleges and universities within an hour’s drive in Montreal and Ottawa.
