Rules for Public Skating and Stick and Puck |
Stick and Puck Rules Work on the fundamentals of hockey and improve your skills. The Stick and Puck program is designed to enable skaters in full hockey gear, the opportunity to work on passing, puck control and skating drills. All public skating rules apply in addition to the rules below.
Public Skating Rules People of all ages can take to the ice during our public skating season which runs from September to March. The Char-Lan Recreation Centre offers a leisurely skate at your own pace with no pucks or nets on the ice. Public Skating is free on behalf of the Township of South Glengarry.

This is the perfect time for a youth or adult who is still learning how to skate. Only inexperienced skaters and those helping skaters will be permitted on the ice. Skate aids are permitted. |
