FAMILY DAY AT THE SUMMERSTOWN TRAILS

-Special Invitation to All Families-

Summerstown, ON – The Friends of the Summerstown Trails (FOTST) invites all area residents and, more particularly, families to come out to the Summerstown trails on Family Day, Monday, February 17, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Special activities will be organized and we hope to see you there!  As our way of supporting today’s busy families, there will be no cost to participate in any of the activities! We'll have free ski and snowshoe rentals, a fat bike demo, volunteers to act as guides on the trails and free hot dogs, marshmallows and hot chocolate. Maple taffy will also be available.

During the fat bike demo, people will be able to try this new and exciting activity (helmet required if 18 and under). As of last season, fat bikes are officially welcomed on the snowshoe trails of Summerstown Forest. More importantly, these trails are specifically groomed for fat biking, allowing for a smooth and even ride. The fat bike demo is offered with the collaboration of Total Cyclery and Sport.

“Last year’s event, which attracted more than 350 participants, was a great success,” said FOTST President Vic Leroux. “Many families come out to the trails for the first time to try out cross-country skiing and snowshoeing and I’m sure many will want to try the fat bikes.”

The trails are situated on Summerstown Road, 1.6 km north of exit 804 of the 401.
