Haveli Route Introduces Indian Cuisine to South Glengarry

New Business Owners Capitalize on Heavy Truck Traffic

SOUTH GLENGARRY, ONTARIO, December 20, 2024 – Haveli Route, an authentic Indian restaurant, proudly celebrated its grand opening on Thursday, December 19th, at 11:00 a.m. at 6227 Boundary Road. Owners Navpreet and Navdeep Gakhal were honoured to have Michael Lazaris from MPP Nolan Quinn’s office, as well as Mayor Lachlan McDonald and CAO Jamie Fawthrop from the Township of South Glengarry, join them for the ceremonial ribbon cutting.

The husband-and-wife team were grateful to the Township of South Glengarry staff for their invaluable support during the restaurant's interior renovations and business launch. “We are very excited because it’s our first business and we are very glad to be in South Glengarry”, explained Navpreet. His wife, Navdeep explained, “[The Township of South Glengarry] helped us a lot… Beyond our expectations. I’m very glad that the MPP, the Mayor, and South Glengarry’s CAO could come out. It’s a very big moment for us.”

Mayor McDonald shared, “I am privileged to attend the grand opening of Haveli Route, and I am delighted to welcome them to South Glengarry. Delicious dishes and warm hospitality are sure to be enjoyed by our community.”

Haveli Route aims to offer a welcoming atmosphere and an authentic North Indian dining experience to the local community, as well as portable meal options for truck drivers heading to the nearby truck stop or supply chain hub. The restaurant features a buffet, an à la carte menu, and both dine-in and take-out options.

Haveli Route is open daily from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at 6227 Boundary Road, South Glengarry.
