Limited Branch Access at SDG Library – Next Steps
MoreLimited Branch Access at SDG Library – Next Steps
The SDG Library is re-opening additional in-person services this week! Beginning Friday, August 14, patrons will be able to use the public computers and access printing (including 3D printing), photocopying and faxing services. As well, patrons can now request to pick-up their holds at the ‘Library Express’ depots located in Glen Walter, St. Andrews West and Dalkeith.
Initially, computer access is by appointment only. Patrons wishing to book time on the Library computers simply contact the preferred branch to reserve a 30-minute time slot. Also resuming service this Friday will be Commissioner of Oaths and exam proctoring services. Library support and programming continues to be available virtually. The additional in-person services will be available at the six branches currently open in Alexandria, Crysler, Ingleside, Lancaster, Morrisburg and Winchester.
“Staff have been working very hard on implementing our re-opening plan” said Karen Franklin, Director of Library Services. “We are thrilled to keep re-opening services to the public and provide much needed access to information and recreation during a stressful time.”
The Library is also planning for the next stage of re-opening services for Tuesday, September 8. If all goes as planned, patrons will be able to browse collections, use their devices in-branch and have short stays in the six branches after Labour Day. Plans are also underway to re-open the MakerLab in Finch for visits by appointment. “We appreciate the level of respect our patrons have shown for the measures put in place to keep everyone safe in our branches – it allows us to continue to move forward with re-opening services.” said Ms. Franklin.
