SOUTH GLENGARRY MUNICIPAL OFFICE CLOSED TO PUBLIC
Lancaster, Ontario, March 15, 2020 – On Saturday, March 14, the Township of South Glengarry advised residents that all recreation facilities and community centres would be closed based on the recommendation of public health direction to all Municipalities in the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) region. In order to remain proactive in reducing the risks associated with the spread of COVID-19, effective Monday March 16th, the Township of South Glengarry’s municipal office at 6 Oak Street, in Lancaster, all recreation facilities, community centres, SDG libraries and municipal fire stations will be closed to the public. While the Township’s municipal offices will be staffed, there will be no public access to these premises during this time to ensure the health of our residents and staff.
The Council of South Glengarry has postponed the first instalment of interim taxation to April 30th, 2020. Preauthorized payments scheduled to be withdrawn on the due date, will now be withdrawn on April 30th, 2020. By Treasurer’s discretion, interest will also not be charged on outstanding water bills until further notice.
To make a payment, please use our secure drop-box at the front of the building or consult your banking institution. For all other inquiries relating to Taxes, Building & Planning, or Economic Development, the Township of South Glengarry encourages all community members to contact staff by email or at the Township office number at: (613)347-1166.
The Township of South Glengarry apologizes for any inconvenience and appreciates your understanding as Council and administration work closely with the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, our neighbouring municipalities and the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) to provide accurate and up-to-date messaging to our staff and residents.

During this time, the Township greatly encourages all residents to practice social distancing and proper hygiene. The EOHU is taking calls from residents in the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry about COVID-19, 7 days a week from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
