Commissioner of Oath

The Township offers Commissioner of Oath services. Certain documents require a Commissioner to certify that a required oath, affirmation or declaration has been administered properly.

Our Commissioners will witness the signature of people who are affirming/swearing the contents of a document to be true. You must wait to sign your document in the presence of the Commissioner.

If you are seeking these service you can visit the Municipal Office or make an appointment during regular business hours. Please provide valid photo identification to have your signature witnesses by a Commissioner of Oaths.

Common documents we can commission include:

• Vehicle transfers
• Insurance claim forms
• Foreign pension of life insurance out of the country
• Consent letters for children travelling out of the country
• Immunization exemptions

We reserve the right to refuse commissioning services of any document.

Please note, we do not offer the service of a "Notary Public". Those services may be found at a lawyer's office.
