Mayor and Council
The Township of South Glengarry is led by a five-member Council made up of a Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and three Councillors. All members are elected at large by residents across the Township to serve a four-year term.
Council meetings are typically held twice a month, usually on the second and fourth Monday.
Meetings take place in Council Chambers at the Char-Lan Recreation Centre (Tartan Hall). Regular meetings begin at 6:30 PM unless otherwise noted. Members of the public are encouraged to attend all open meetings.
The Mayor and Deputy Mayor also serve on the Council of the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, joining representatives from the five other local municipalities in regional decision-making.
