To be eligible to vote, you must meet the qualifications set out in the Municipal Elections Act. A person is entitled to vote in South Glengarry if:

  • They live, own or rent land in the municipality, or are the spouse of someone who owns or rents land in the municipality.
  • They are a Canadian citizen.
  • They are at least 18 years old.
  • They are not prohibited from voting under any law.

The Voter’s List is maintained by Elections Ontario. You can check, update, add, or remove your information from the Voter’s List by visiting Register to Vote. 

The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation collects and maintains school support information for property owners in Ontario. To update your school board support, visit MPAC’s Online School Support Tool.

 

The Township of South Glengarry will be utilizing Internet and Telephone voting methods for the 2026 election. This means that voters can only cast their votes online or by telephone.

All eligible electors will receive a Voter Information Letter in October. This letter will contain the information required for voting online or by telephone.

If you require assistance with voting, you can visit our Voter Help Centre. The Voter Help Centre will be located at the Township of South Glengarry main office (6 Oak Street, Lancaster) and will be open on the followings dates and times:

  • Monday, October 19th – Friday, October 23rd – 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 25th – 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

On Election Day, the Voter Help Centre will be located at [TBD] and will be open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Please note: there will be no paper ballots available at the Voter Help Centre. Electors can vote using internet at the Voter Help Centre with assistance from our trained Elections Team.
