You cannot predict an emergency, but you can be ready for one.

Emergency preparedness in South Glengarry focuses on knowing the risks in your area and taking simple steps to prepare for them before they happen.

Emergency Management Ontario provides helpful resources to support your preparedness, including guides, presentations, forms, and activity sheets.

 

Emergency Preparedness Week 

Emergency Preparedness Week (EPW) is a national awareness initiative and a reminder to take simple steps to protect yourself, your household, and your community during an emergency.

Emergency Preparedness Week takes place each year in May. In 2026, it runs from May 3 to 9. The theme is “Prepared Together.”

 

Emergency Response Plan

The Township of South Glengarry is required to adopt and regularly review its Emergency Response Plan.

All officials, municipal departments, and partner agencies must be prepared to carry out their responsibilities during an emergency. The plan provides key staff and partners with important information, including:

• Required arrangements, services, and equipment
• Defined roles and responsibilities during an emergency

 

Emergency Information

To support community preparedness before, during, and after an emergency, the Township of South Glengarry shares timely updates through the News section on its website and through Voyent Alert!.
