Flood Warning Issued for RRCA Jurisdiction
The Raisin Region Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Warning for its jurisdiction due to continued snowmelt and forecast rainfall.
Environment Canada is calling for ongoing above zero temperatures and up to 30 mm of rain by March 12. Recent warm weather and precipitation have already led to rising water levels and increased river flows. Several creeks are nearing bank full conditions, and further increases are expected.
Flooding is anticipated along inland rivers throughout the RRCA jurisdiction. Low lying roads, farm lanes, and driveways near rivers and creeks may be impacted.
In South Glengarry, the following roads are susceptible to flooding:
• McGillivray Road between Martintown and County Road 27
• Chapel Road between the Beaudette River and Caber Road
• River Road between McGillivrays Bridge and Williamstown
• Cashion Road
• Loyalist Road downstream of Williamstown
Residents are asked to exercise caution and avoid driving through flooded areas.
