Notice of Public Meeting – Proposed Building By-law and Permit Fees

The Township of South Glengarry will hold a public meeting to consider a proposed Building By-law that includes new and amended building permit fees under Section 7 of the Building Code Act.

The meeting will take place on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers (Tartan Hall), 19740 John Street, Williamstown.

The proposed by-law follows a review of existing building permit fees and would introduce changes to current fees, as well as new fees for certain permits and services where none previously existed. Details on the proposed fees and the rationale for the changes will be presented at the meeting.

For information purposes, a draft of the proposed fee changes is attached as Draft Schedule “A”. This draft is provided to assist the public in reviewing the proposed amendments in advance of the meeting.

Members of the public are welcome to attend and may make written or verbal submissions in support of or opposition to the proposed by-law. Written submissions must be received by February 16, 2026.
