Township and City of Cornwall Finalize Transfer of Cornwall Regional Airport Ownership

The City of Cornwall and the Township of South Glengarry are pleased to announce the successful completion of an agreement that transfers the City of Cornwall's 50 per cent ownership interest in the Cornwall Regional Airport to the Township of South Glengarry. Under the terms of the agreement, South Glengarry has acquired the City of Cornwall's ownership interest in the airport's real property and assets for $1.5 million. The transaction makes South Glengarry the sole owner of the airport and marks the conclusion of a longstanding municipal partnership that began in 1984.

The Cornwall Regional Airport has served residents, businesses and visitors across the region for more than four decades. Throughout that time, the airport has played an important role in supporting aviation services, economic development and regional connectivity.

The agreement preserves the Cornwall Regional Airport as a vital regional asset and positions it for continued service to residents, businesses and visitors for years to come. Both municipalities remain committed to maintaining a strong working relationship and continuing to collaborate on initiatives that support the economic prosperity and quality of life of residents throughout the region.
