Garbage collection is continuing as crews work through challenges caused by icy road conditions and cold weather. Collection crews are working hard to safely collect waste across the municipality.
If your garbage has not been collected on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, please leave it at the curb Friday morning. Thursday’s collection has also been moved to Friday.
Multiple trucks will be out on Friday to complete collection. If your garbage is still not collected on Friday, crews will return on Saturday to finish remaining areas.
We thank HGC for their continued efforts and appreciate residents’ patience and cooperation.
Please be advised that the Township Administration Office and Recreation Office will close at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24, and will reopen on Monday, January 5, resuming regular business hours.

Natural Christmas trees will be collected on residents’ regular collection day during the weeks of January 5–8 and January 12–15.

The Treasurer oversees the Financial Services Department. The Treasurer is appointed by Council and reports to the Chief Administrative Officer. In accordance with Section 286 of the Municipal Act, 2001, the Treasurer is responsible for handling all of the financial affairs of the municipality on behalf of and in the manner directed by Council.

Each year the Township General Managers prepare their operational and capital needs and submit them to the Treasurer to develop the Township budget. Council then reviews the budget in draft form and considers the various projects that are proposed, balancing the needs and wants of our vibrant community while considering the fairness of the taxation level.
