Leaf and Yard Waste

Curbside Collection

Curbside leaf and yard waste collection for 2025 is now complete. Collection will resume weekly from May 4 to October 30, 2026. Please place materials at the roadside by 7:00 a.m. on your regular collection day.

Landfill Disposal Available Year-Round:
Residents are reminded that free disposal of leaf and yard waste is available year-round at South Glengarry landfill sites.

  • Paper yard waste bags or reusable containers (e.g., garbage cans or recycling bins)
  • No bag limit
  • Small bundles up to 4 ft in length and 50 lbs

  • Shrubs, large branches, stumps

Important Guidelines for Landfill Disposal

  • Leaf and yard waste must not be bagged. Bagged waste must be emptied before disposal.

  • A Landfill Registration Pass and photo ID are required. Passes are $20 and available at the Township Office (6 Oak Street, Lancaster) or at the landfill during operating hours.

  • Brush, stumps, and wood must be under 7.5 cm in diameter (tipping fees apply for larger materials).

  • Commercial haulers are not accepted for leaf and yard waste.
