What is Council considering?

The Glen Walter Water Tower project received federal and provincial funding. The Township borrowed funds to cover the municipal share and must now determine how those costs will be repaid.

The Township is seeking input on:

  • How costs should be shared between Glen Walter water-system users and the broader Township tax base.

  • Whether a contribution from the Township’s working capital reserve should reduce the amount that must be borrowed.

  • How loan terms and repayment options could affect costs over time.

The presentation also explains how future development and connection fees could contribute to recovering project costs.

Review the presentation

Before completing the survey, please review the presentation. It explains the project funding, cost-sharing options and estimated financial impacts.

The amounts shown are estimates for the options being considered. They do not represent a final charge to your property.

Share your feedback

After reviewing the information, complete the survey to tell us what you think. Your feedback will help inform Council’s decision on how the project costs should be shared.

You do not need to be connected to the Glen Walter water system to participate. Some options involve contributions from the broader Township tax base, so feedback from residents across South Glengarry is welcome.

Survey deadline: November 16, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
